Irena Campbell

I am a professional counsellor registered with the BACP. I have a background of working in prisons, with Male, female and young offenders. I have also worked for the NHS, Woman’s Aid and Northampton domestic abuse services.

I have previously been a lead facilitator delivering the Freedom programme and a programme for perpetrators of domestic abuse called your power to change. I have worked with many safeguarding issues for both children, young people and adults.

I have also worked in many different schools, from primary through to secondary and Academies.

I am passionate that individuals should be able to attain counselling. I specialise in ACES, and the impact of living with ACES. Empowering the individual client to make changes and understand the fear they have lived with for many years, and how their fear has impacted on their behaviour. Enabling the individual client to gain confidence, self-worth and understand their own emotions is so powerful, as they then gain control of their live, they are able to make sense of their own beliefs, and make the changes they need to make to live a life where for the first time in many years they can feel a sense of freedom .
