John Trott

John is a former Detective Chief Inspector with specialist knowledge and experience of domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking and Honour Based Abuse. He also has extensive knowledge of the Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults arena

Since retiring from the police service John continues to work within the domestic abuse sector and works with victims and survivors of domestic abuse helping them to be heard by services and agencies.

John also provides expert consultation, and designs and delivers bespoke training to the Police Service, Probation Service, Social Services and other multi-agencies around the United Kingdom on Domestic Abuse, Coercion and Control, Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences and Stalking. He has lectured and spoken at a number of events

John’s professional objective is to assist victims and survivors either directly or indirectly by influencing change both at the front-line and strategically by working with other agencies to challenge attitudes and ensure professionals are confident and competent to accurately and consistently assess risk, save lives and investigate in areas of domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking, adult and child abuse.
